Unbalanced TV

Further to Alison Dady's 'In my view' ('Nanny register is long overdue', 17 April), as a former sole-charge nanny I strongly agree that we need a nanny register. But I am quite concerned about the amount of negative coverage on television regarding childcare. As a manager of a high-quality workplace nursery and an NNEB of 17 years' standing, I don't think programmes such as 'Who's looking after your child?' bring much comfort to parents when it comes to childcare workers. I know parents have to made aware, but there needs to be a balance of the 'good' and 'bad'. Samantha Orange Wakefield, West Yorkshire
