US group buys Kinderquest

Bright Horizons Family Solutions, the US-based specialist in employer-sponsored childcare, has bought Kinderquest, the UK's largest provider of workplace nurseries. This latest acquisition adds 49 nurseries to Bright Horizons Family Solutions' portfolio, of which Kinderquest manages 46 and owns two, with one more due to open next February. In the latest edition of Nursery Chains (6 June), Kinderquest was ninth in the league table of the 20 biggest providers in the UK and Ireland, with 2,026 childcare places, while Bright Horizons Family Solutions was sixteenth with 917. The acquisition brings the total number of places currently provided by Bright Horizons Family Solutions to 2,943, which would put it in fourth place. Only Asquith Court Schools, Leapfrog and Jigsaw now provide more childcare places.
