Wales' first breastfeeding co-ordinator has been named as Sue Sky, who is charged with delivering the Welsh Assembly's strategy to increase the number of mothers who breastfeed their babies and the length of time that they do so. Ms Sky has worked as a breastfeeding counsellor for five years and has represented Wales on the National Childbirth Trust Breastfeeding Group, as well as being involved in implementing the Assembly's strategies relating to children's health for the past four years. Health minister Jane Hutt said, 'Sue will be working with national, regional and local groups of health professionals, voluntary groups and breastfeeding mothers to encourage continuous support for breastfeeding mothers.'
