Children from Goetre Infants School in Merthyr Tydfil took part in stream dipping and other fieldwork activities at the Dolygaer Outdoor Education Centre last week to show her how much can be learned outside the classroom.
Ms Hutt said, 'It is vital for children to form a relationship with the natural world if we are to encourage them to take steps in their later lives to ensure that they live sustainably and with a global awareness.
'Being outdoors and working with living things in their environment, children can begin to understand how the natural world works and develop attitudes, values and commitment to support sustainable lifestyles.'
