Wasted studies

Further to the news story about the childcare course run by International Correspondence Schools ('500 for uncredited course', 18 September), I was disappointed to discover when I finished the course that it is not accredited or recognised. I have paid 200 to ICS for the course and owe 279. As a single mother with three children I find it very hard to pay that kind of money, which I took from my child benefit. My aim was that by the time I completed the course, I would have been able to get a job working in childcare and would also have stopped having to rely on benefits. But now I realise that I have wasted both my time and my money.
