What the camera didn't record: happy times

F McCallum's letter (Letters, 26 August) clearly shows how gullible the public can be. 'Shame on you all'? How can that be said when many of us in our profession work hard and adore children. Why do we all have to be punished for the disgraceful behaviour of a few? Speaking as an experienced nursery manager, I feel 'Nurseries Undercover'

Speaking as an experienced nursery manager, I feel 'Nurseries Undercover'

was one-sided and sensationalised. Yes, the footage was appalling and the staff in question should not be working with children. However, our job is hard enough as it is - low pay, long hours and very little thanks - without criticism from such a small piece of research.

Many of us love our jobs and work hard for the sake of the children. To have parents now doubting our work and us as individuals is very upsetting.

The programme was soul destroying for those of us who truly love and care for the children and our jobs.
