Why do they let us chase rainbows?

I got very upset and angry when I read the feature 'Heading for a fall' (8 April). I am a mother of two young children and the deputy of a pre-school, studying for a foundation degree in early years so that I can go on and become a teacher in reception (hopefully). But now that I have read this article I am wondering whether there will be jobs out there and if it is worth me studying every night, trying to juggle school, home and work.

But now that I have read this article I am wondering whether there will be jobs out there and if it is worth me studying every night, trying to juggle school, home and work.

Why does the Government pay for teacher training if there are no jobs? Come on, give us positive vibes - it's hard enough as it is to work in the pre-school sector with low pay and not much recognition. To read about this issue from such a negative viewpoint has been very discouraging.
