This could be heard at any yoga class in the country, but in this case, the instructions are being given to the pre-school children at Hilton Nursery in Aberdeen.
Nursery teacher Fiona Thomson decided in October that the children needed to calm down before storytime, so she started teaching them yoga. Now she finds they are much more willing to sit quietly during stories.
'It has certainly worked,' she said. 'It calms them down and they enjoy it a lot.'
She has explained to the children that the physical movements 'get their bodies and their brains ready to listen'.
Using very simple, gentle movements, the children breathe slowly and stretch different parts of their bodies. It took a little time for them to master 'hook ups', where they cross their hands together, stretch them out, then hold them in under their chins, but Ms Thomson says that this is now their favourite move.
