No one can claim to be suprised at the EYFS now that it's upon us.

Early years practitioners might well feel that they have been living and breathing the Early Years Foundation Stage in the run-up to its implementation next September - the consultation, the draft, the pack, the roll-out of training. So the notion that the EYFS is a 'stealth curriculum', as it is portrayed in coverage of the EYFS protest letter signed by the great and good (and slightly puzzling), is somewhat ridiculous (see News, page 4, and Letters, page 13)

Why stage a protest now, when the countdown to the new framework is well advanced and millions of pounds have been spent or committed?
