When I was assessing full time I wasn't prepared to send somebody into the workplace as qualified when I didn't feel they were, nor was I prepared to put my name to a portfolio of work if I didn't feel it was good or comprehensive enough.

Unfortunately this couldn't be said for some of my colleagues. I often witnessed them dictating work for the learners to claim as their own. The training provider wanted the money and didn't really seem bothered whether the learner was competent or not.

Janny - which course to study

In the nursery prospectus it says that although we take every precaution, the children will get messy and should not wear their best clothes. Even so one mum told me, 'I will not dress my son in anything but the best.' I pointed out the advantages to the child, but she still left in a huff.
