Britain's first purpose-built children's theatre opened in London in December. The Unicorn Theatre, which has been forced to relocate several times in its 60-year history, has moved to a new permanent home on London's South Bank. The 30m building was designed in consultation with local children and has two auditoriums and an education room. It will provide education opportunities to over 100,000 children each year.
