Claire and Samantha Roberts
Wednesday, September 3, 2003
Nursery users will be seeing double when twin sisters Claire and Samantha Roberts become joint managers of a 50-place neighbourhood nursery in Northumberland that is being created by the Haltwhistle pre-school playgroup. The nursery is being built with grants of 180,000 from Northumberland EYDCP and 228,000 from the New Opportunities Fund. It will provide full-day care for children aged from six weeks to five years, as well as holding playgroup sessions and wraparound care for children aged up to 12. Claire Roberts said, 'Haltwhistle needs a full-day care facility for children, but without this help it would have remained just a dream. We will be working closely with Sure Start Western Tynedale, Haltwhistle First School, local health visitors and the Job Centre Plus to offer maximum support for families.'
