Crunching through five portions of fruit and vegetables a day has become an enjoyable habit for two-year-old Anna McGuiness, who celebrated Fruit and Veg Day with senior nursery nurse Linda Grindley and other children at Oaklands Nursery in East Kilbride in Scotland. Children attending Oaklands and the Careshare nursery chain's other 16 nurseries throughout Scotland all follow a healthy eating programme. Development director Dolores O'Donnell said, 'Our philosophy on healthy eating reverts to a balanced menu that includes all the food groups and is a million miles away from the current fast food culture favoured by a lot of people today.'
