Dizzy Ducks offers mobile wedding creche

Since August, the nursery group, based in Essex, has been providing childcare and entertainment for children of wedding guests, customising its services for any number of children, based on venue allowances and staff numbers.

The crèche can be adapted to the needs of each individual wedding depending on the number and ages of the children and the length of time they are required for, with a range of age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities, including games, sport and arts and crafts and films and games for older children. Services can be tailored to suit any budget.

If the crèche is required through the evening, staff will put children to bed in a specially designed snooze zone complete with travel cots, sleep mats and cushions. Parents also have the option of putting younger children to sleep if they wish.

Sian Nisbett, the director of Dizzy Ducks, says, 'The service is being really well received by brides. People love the idea that they can invite children to their wedding, but not have the worry that their speeches and wedding breakfast will be disrupted. Children find weddings boring - there is such a lot of sitting down and being quiet! We like to think that we help to make the day as fantastic for the "littlest guests" as it is for everyone else!'

Laura Reilly, who used the service for her ten-month-old son, says, 'From the outset, we were impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff who were able to help us locate the changing facilities.'

'Later on, during the meal, we left Max playing with one of the members of staff. She was extremely professional and after a quick chat (which included her making sure she knew exactly where to find us) we felt at ease leaving him to play happily!'

All staff members are CRB-checked, have childcare experience and the service is Ofsted registered. They carry out risk-assessments at the venue, visits all sites where more than 50 children are expected, and provide registration forms for each child and security wristbands and nametags for each child.
