Childcare professionals are being invited by a television production company to take part in a documentary series to help hassled parents bring some order to their chaotic family life.

Ricochet South is looking for childcare experts aged 30 to 60 to star in a three-part series for Channel 4, and help families sort out their problems, ranging from tantrum-prone toddlers to sibling rivalry.

The programme, which does not yet have a title but will be shown on telvision next spring, is intended to provide an 'intelligent and informative' look at childcare and parenting in the 21st century.

According to the producers, today's abundance of parenting information in books and magazines makes it much harder to be a parent now than 20 years ago, when there was less literature on the market.

Associate producer Edward Levane said, 'There's a lot of confusion about being a parent at the moment. We're saying, "Let's stand back and bring in a professional with an objective view about how (family life) is running, who can give insightful pointers".'

Candidates must have five years' experience in childcare and 'a clear understanding of the latest parenting techniques as well as traditional approaches to childcare'. For more information contact Ricochet South on 01273 604 792 and ask for Childcare Series.
