Fast food high on salt

Eating at a fast food restaurant could expose children to 'shockingly high' levels of salt, a survey of restaurant chains has found.

Lobby group the Consensus Action on Salt and Health (CASH) said one mealfrom Pizza Hut contained four times the daily salt limit for asix-year-old. KFC meals were also found to have unhealthy salt levels.CASH called for all restaurants to carry nutrition information so peoplecould make informed choices. The survey was published as a Governmentreport predicted that more than half of adults will be obese by 2050(News, page 4).
