Wednesday, November 21, 2001
The Scottish Independent Nurseries Association is to employ a childcare partnership liaison service officer to assist private and voluntary sector providers. The post, made possible by an award of nearly 35,000 from the Scottish Executive (News, 9 August), will run an advocacy service to help providers in the voluntary, private and local authority sectors with their childcare partnerships. It is hoped the new service will help providers to compare the practices of various partnerships and encourage them to take more of an active role within their partnership. It will also monitor the numbers of childcare workers accessing training through the Partnership Training Plans. The partnership liaison service officer will facilitate joint working between the voluntary and private sectors and monitor the numbers of childcare workers accessing training through the Partnership Training Plans.
