Nursery group Kiddi Caru has started a long-term fundraising partnership with the national family support charity Home-Start.

The campaign will launch in November, involving a series of events across Kiddi Caru’s 18 day nurseries to raise awareness and funds for the charity’s Snowflake appeal for vulnerable children.

Every year Home-Start provides support for more than 32,000 families with children aged up to five years. The volunteers work alongside parents in their own homes to help them cope with difficult situations and make sure they have the skills, time and strength needed to nurture their children and give them the best start in life.

Caron Moseley, marketing manager at Kiddi Caru, said, “There is a huge amount of affinity between our organisations and we feel that we can really support Home-Start in its ambitions to realise its vision.

'We are very excited about some of the fund raising ideas that we have for the coming year. The Snowflake appeal is just the start of what will be an ongoing programme of fundraising activities for the charity.'

Kiddi Caru nurseries will be staging a number of events, including a Snowflake Day to highlight the start of the Snowflake Appeal. Other activities will involve snowflake-themed crafts such as baking snowflake cakes and biscuits and having snowflake fancy dress parties.

The Snowflake Appeal was launched in November 2013 to drive awareness of Home-Start’s work and provide an additional platform through which to raise money for the charity. The figurehead for the appeal is Kirstie Allsop of Location, Location, Location fame.

Sue Thorn, head of fundraising at Home-Start UK, said, 'Parents of nursery age children know only too well the pressures that mums and dads face. For some families, hardship or tragedy can multiply those pressures, and they need help to cope.

'We are very excited about Kiddi Caru’s support for Home-Start as we know that with their help we can provide that support to even more children and families.'
