Local authorities are adopting their own techniques to encourage healthy eating. The catering team for the East Riding of Yorkshire last month held a 'Design your own healthy school lunch' competition, in which children from 70 primary schools used cardboard and plastic food cut-outs to plan their own healthy meals. The winners will receive a specially designed apron and the council will produce a book of the winning recipes.
