NDNA launches its workforce surveys for Scotland and Wales

Nurseries in Scotland and Wales are being urged to take part in the NDNA’s latest workforce surveys.

The National Day Nurseries Association’s (NDNA) workforce surveys for Scotland and Wales cover recruitment and retention, the impact of minimum wage increases, the impact of Brexit on EU staff members, qualifications and training.

The NDNA hopes the findings from each survey will provide it with a clearer picture of the crucial issues affecting the sector in Wales and Scotland to enable it to challenge Government for policy changes

Everyone that takes part in the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win a Toadstool Small World Cottage donated by TTS and Consortium.

Purnima Tanuku, chief executive of NDNA, said, ‘This is a crucial time for childcare as the policy landscape changes in both Scotland and Wales.

‘We know there are many issues surrounding recruitment and retention of qualified staff in the early years. We want to know the scale and impact of these issues to ensure nurseries are able to hire and keep the staff they need to deliver the high quality and flexible childcare that children and families deserve.'

Findings from the Workforce Survey for England will be published in the summer.

  • Both surveys close on Monday 3 June at 5pm. To take part in the survey for Wales click here or for the survey for Scotland here
