The Disclosure and Barring Service is introducing the new 'update service' from 17 June.
The DBS says that the new online service will make it easier for early years workers and childminders to re-use their checks, and speed up the recruitment process and save money for providers.
The introduction of the new online system follows news last month that providers and individuals will need to pay for CRB checks from July, when the Government removes the subsidy.
