- Easter Parade

Early years settings across the country have been celebrating Easter.Pupils from Forres Sandle Manor Pre-Prep in Fordingbridge, Hampshire,donned homemade Easter bonnets to entertain elderly residents at a carehome. Killinghall and District Playgroup/Pre-School in Harrogate, NorthYorkshire, performed an Easter show for their parents, and pre-prepchildren from Oakwood School in Chichester showcased their talents witha bonnet parade.

Nursery on the Green in Frimley, Surrey, extended its Easter activitiesto the baby room, encouraging children to make marks using wooden eggsdipped in paint (bottom).

- Helping Haiti

Nunu Holmes Chapel Day Nursery in Crewe, Cheshire, had a Hats for Haitiday to raise money for earthquake victims. Nursery manager HayleySinclair said, 'We had lots of fun looking at and wearing all differenttypes - fire hats, cowboy hats, summer hats, even cow hats - and all fora worthy cause.'

- Healthy me

Children at Daisychain Nurseries in Clifton Park and Westbury Park inBristol and Step by Step Nursery in Maryhill, Glasgow, have been activein the NDNA's Healthy Body, Happy Me campaign.Events included splashingin puddles on Muddy Monday and taking part in a game of mini rugby andfootball training.

- How outstanding

Staff and children at the Little Scholars Nursery at the University ofWolverhampton are celebrating their outstanding rating fromOfsted.Inspectors commented on the nursery's strong leadership andmanagement, and the rich, stimulating environment and wealth of learningand development on offer.

- The gift of blood

Busy Bees Nursery chain has launched a campaign called Save a Life toraise awareness of donating blood and urging families, friends and thelocal community to take up the challenge. All 129 Busy Bees Nurseriesare taking part in the year-long campaign and are working closely withthe National Blood Service to encourage 1,200 people to give blood.

- Helping the hospital

Children at Tops Day Nursery in Bournemouth visited the RoyalBournemouth Hospital to launch the Jigsaw Appeal to raise funds for anew women's unit at the hospital. The nursery donated the 17children and their families raised from holding a pink cake sale andunveiled the prize draw car.

- Bunny Hop

Children from Magic Minders, also known as the Worthing ChildmindingAssociation, went hopping mad as they dressed as rabbits to do a specialbunny hop to raise money for children's medical research charity Sparks.The children hopped from start to finish singing the 'Hopping Bunnies'song and raised 115 for the cause.
