Georgia Hollick died in hospital on 19 April of asphyxiation after choking on the apple at Just Learning Nursery in Cambourne, Cambridgeshire (News, 27 April). At an inquest into her daughter's death, Sharon Hollick said that she had expressed concern over the care Georgia was receiving to nursery manager Julie Haynes just days before the tragedy, claiming she had found Georgia sitting on the floor alone eating strawberries.

The inquest also heard from three of the nursery staff who were on duty that day.

Just Learning manager Jonathan Bell said, 'The evidence has been the subject of detailed consideration by the coroner and the jury and we acknowledge the verdict of accidental death they have reached.'
