Bright Start Nursery, a 74 place setting in a beautiful listed building, will be known as Welcome Nurseries @ Cowlersley Lane. All former staff are being retained.
‘This is a wonderful addition to our small group’, said Linda Cuddy, director of childcare and education at Welcome Nurseries.
Work is underway on a two-week ‘refresh and update’ programme on the premises, which Ms Cuddy said is ‘standard practice in all newly-acquired’ settings. She added, ‘Two weeks of decorating and repairs doesn’t disrupt the operation of the nursery but can transform the environment.’
A marketing and advertising programme will also start immediately to increase awareness in the area.
Welcome Nurseries was formed 14 months ago and owns nine settings – seven in the north of England and two in Essex.
In July, it acquired Tilly Tots Day Nursery in Sefton, Liverpool, registered for 85 children. The group is actively seeking new acquisitions and has a pipeline to take it to 2,000 childcare places by the end of the year.
