The achievement, which recognises the positive impact the nurseries are having on children’s health and well-being, is an upgrade to the Bronze status that it achieved last year.
Dean Richter, from Northcote House Nursery in London, who is lead chef for the ICP Nurseries Group said he was ‘honoured’ to have assisted the nursery to upgrade the accreditation.
‘It is not always easy to find out where your food comes from, how it was produced and what ingredients it contains, when eating outside your home, but our parents have peace of mind that the food they eat at nursery, is the very best,' he added.
