SUMMER WONDERLAND

This year's theme for the summer social evening at Early Years Childcare in Brighton was 'Alice in Wonderland'. Staff worked hard to recreate scenes from the story, using papier-mache to make pink flamingos, a Cheshire Cat tree house, a giant toadstool and over-sized playing cards. Parents and children were greeted by the setting's own Tweedledum and Tweedledee, and enjoyed a Mad Hatter's tea party and other themed games.

COMMUMNITY SPIRIT

Sparklers Day Nursery in Castle Douglas, Scotland, got involved with the town's Civic Week festivities by holding their own mini version of the event. The three-day celebration including a royal teddy bears' picnic for children, staff and parents, a visit to a nearby community centre to perform songs for elderly visitors, and a beach party, with sandcastle building and a feast of hotdogs and ice cream.
