South-west nursery group acquires ninth setting

South Hills Nurseries has bought Stepping Stones Day Nursery, adding to its portfolio of settings in Wiltshire.

Rated good by Ofsted, Stepping Stones nursery, a 63-place setting in Froxfield, was opened 30 years ago. In 2015, the business was taken over by the current owner Mrs Patterson. 

The latest acquisition by South Hills Nurseries, which operates settings solely in Wiltshire, brings its total number of nurseries to nine, offering more than 500 childcare places. 

The nursery group’s other settings are in – Wilton, Salisbury (X 2), Burcombe, Corsham, Semley, St Peter’s and Great Chevrell. All the nurseries that have been inspected are rated good and outstanding.

South Hills Nurseries was established in 1993 by owner Alicia Proctor.

Sophie Willcox, associate director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, said, ‘I am delighted to have helped Charlotte in finding the right buyer for her nursery. I’d like to wish her the best of luck in any future ventures and I hope to assist Mr Proctor again in the future in expanding his group.
