Position: Childminder from Colchester, Essex

- Why have you decided to run the London marathon in April?

Running the marathon is on my bucket list. I've come to an age where I wanted to do something worthwhile and set myself a challenge. I'm running the marathon to raise money for the charity Children with Cancer UK. My 19-year-old son is also running with me, but in aid of the charity Sense.

- How much training have you had to do?

I train three times a week and recently ran in the Colchester half-marathon. I hope to raise £1,500 for the charity. So far I have £1,000 in donations.

- How long have you worked as a childminder?

I've been a childminder for six years. Two years ago my husband joined me. We care for 30 different children in total, ranging from pre-school age upwards.
