WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO SET UP A NEW VENTURE WITH THE YUM YUM FOOD COMPANY?
Working with nurseries for over 15 years on their menus opened my eyes to the challenges faced in running kitchens. I wanted to be able to fuel every child at nursery or school with the best nourishment and knew there had to be a one-stop solution that could cater for nurseries of all sizes. When I saw the great work Yum Yum was doing in offering an affordable, reliable food delivery service, I knew I could lend my expertise and brand to help them grow.
WHAT WILL THE COMPANY OFFER NURSERIES THAT MAKES IT UNIQUE?
Serving up something super-healthy to a child that doesn’t tick the ‘tasty’ box is likely to be returned to sender. And that’s where my 29 years’ expertise comes in; every meal I’ve prepared for their menus is filled with flavour and goodness to help children flourish.
We also specialise in allergies and intolerances. Our online ordering system ensures every child receives the correct meal to meet their needs. Nurseries can also order the exact meal quantities they need each day, reducing waste. I’ve also worked on a downloadable marketing toolkit to help nurseries promote their food.
The cost of cooking healthy meals from scratch is often a real challenge, and in-house chefs also have to deal with the complexities of many children. Our service helps nurseries by removing the challenges of kitchen labour costs, space, resource, time and expertise, which can all impact nutritional quality.
CAN YOU GIVE SOME EXAMPLES OF MEALS?
Our menus run on a three-week rotation to ensure they are packed with variety, from creamy beef stroganoff and mango chicken to fruity vegetable curry and courgette and carrot cake. We’ve spent countless months taste-testing our expert menus to ensure they stand up to the fussiest of food critics!
