What made you decide to take part in a 'job swap' to raise money for Children in Need?

It is so sad to see so many children in a bad position, so I decided to do something to help them. The job swapping started last year, when people donated money for me to work in a fish and chip shop. This year I joined the staff in Costa cleaning tables and raised nearly £150 in a few hours.

How did you get into childcare?

A health visitor once commented on how good I was with children, and she suggested I try a career in childcare as I was unsure about going back to work after having my daughter. I set up my childminding business and haven't looked back since.

What's next on your fundraising agenda?

I also do fundraising with the children I care for - we have just hosted our annual Big Toddle with the help of Pudsey. So far the children, their families and other childminder groups have raised more than £300, which is great. As for my individual activities, everyone is challenging me to do a skydive next year - I suppose you have to do something out of your comfort zone for people to want to donate, and jumping out of a plane is definitely that!
