The Big Picture: Clean up and go green at latest Eco nursery

Monday, September 19, 2011

Daisy and Jake Day Nurseries' setting in Irby has become the first nursery in the Wirral, Merseyside, to achieve Eco-School status.

The nursery, one of three settings owned by the Daisy and Jake chain, is now one of 2,090 nurseries and infant settings across the country to be recognised as an Eco-School, an international award open to early years settings and schools in recognition of their efforts to become environmentally sustainable.

To qualify for the award, the nursery had to meet strict criteria which children fulfilled when they went litter picking and parents and staff used as the basis of their action team.
