It is definitely not for the faint-hearted, but it is fullfilling and Ilove it so much that I have even worked for the love of the job, totallywithout pay when we started up and things were tight. If it's what youwant to do, then go for it! - SallyQ - Opening a nursery

I go to charity shops and boot sales and ask friends if they have oldbooks to donate for story sacks at my nursery. Then I make the sacks upwith puppets and games to go with the story books. - Kate Dawson -Storysacks

Outdoors is not accessed enough. This is down to some managers having noinnovation, not listening to the needs of their team or keeping abreastof research and theory. Sometimes it is simple laziness. Above all, afew managers wonder why some children are badly behaved - namely boys.Boys need to run, kick, jump, get dirty and explore. Practitioners needto have an open door policy, so they can not only let off steam butlearn in an outdoor environment at their own pace, not dictated by rigidindoor routines with half an hour outdoors a day. - Millie - Soil?

I am only on 5.52. Everyone is on the minimum wage for their agedespite their job title, so a Level 6 who is supposed to know bettergets the same as a 22-year-old nursery assistant. - Tink84 - A good oldmoan.
