Enabling Environments: new resources from ecoboo

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

ecoboo's eye-catching range of eco-friendly products extends to toys, feeding sets and textiles, and all are made of bamboo.

As the fastest growing plant on the planet, bamboo is harvestable every three to five years, which helps make it a sustainable, cost-effective alternative to timber.

Since its launch two and a half years ago, ecoboo has built up a range of 25 toys, including the traditional shape sorter (£22), ark (£24) and pull-along xylophone (£17), as well as larger items such as a training bike (£70) and trike (£40). All are designed to withstand the rigours of play, says the company.

In the feeding and textiles ranges are a bamboo bowl and training beaker (£9) and a set of three bamboo bibs (£10).

The full product range can be viewed on the company website, and selected lines are also available at John Lewis and independent stores nationally.

'Following the very positive response ecoboo received at the Autumn Fair 2010, it is clear the UK parent has a genuine interest in and a real awareness of the environmental effects of the products they buy and give to their children,' says managing director Jason Shaw. 'ecoboo offers parents a real ecological alternative.'
