To take a dramatic example, some of the staff shown in 'Nurseries Undercover' were short-tempered, aggressive, and unpleasant, leaving Lizz Brown to reflect on how she 'found it hard to understand how in one nursery, in Stoke-on-Trent, some staff were unkind to some of the small children'. The typical pattern is that a child is seen as demanding, and the member of staff gets angry with the child.
