Ways of relating to computer use in pre-school activity This Swedish study identified three ways of relating to computer use: as a threat to other activities, as an available option, and as an essential activity. A relationship was found between these categories and the three learning environments, characterised respectively as protective (teachers try to reduce the time spent by children on the computer); supporting (teachers engage more actively in the use of the computer); and guiding (teachers stimulate children's interest in the computer and guide use).

The former owners of a nursery and a pre-school have claimed a series of Ofsted errors forced them to close both businesses. Lisa and Martyn Wills, who ran the Pavilion Day Nursery and Pavilion Pre-school in Whetstone, on the outskirts of Leicester, said they were the victims of damning Ofsted reports posted in error on the educational watchdog's website.
