Registered childminder training is to be available in eight additional languages as well as English. The National Childminding Association has had its training course, Introducing Childminding Practice (ICP), translated into Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Gujerati, Punjabi, Somali, Turkish and Urdu. Charles Rice, NCMA director of training, development and quality assurance, said the move would 'make the pre-registration childminding training course even more accessible to people from a diverse range of backgrounds, creating an inclusive workforce'. He added, 'We hope this will encourage more people to consider a career as a registered childminder.' The course materials in all eight languages are available on a single CD for course providers, Early Years Development and Childcare Partnerships and colleges.
