Bright Horizons to open 'flagship' nursery

Nursery group Bright Horizons is to open a ‘flagship’ nursery in Clapham, south London in the summer.

The new setting, which will be known as Bright Horizons Clapham Village, will open on 23 June and provide 120 places for children over three floors.

The nursery will have a unique logo to the Bright Horizons brand and the motto 'It takes a village to raise a child' — made famous by the Nigerian novelist Chinua Achebe.

Designed with parents with busy lifestyles in mind, it will offer a range of ‘dedicated’ parent services including onsite dry cleaning, a parent relaxation area with sofas, parent ‘hot desk’ with computers and a printer/scanner for mothers and fathers to use, and a personal assistant (PA) service. Parents will be able to use the PA service to buy gifts, book birthday parties and appointments and organise holidays.

Jeremy Clark, development director at Bright Horizons, said, ‘This nursery is set to be a jewel in the crown of Bright Horizons. The added extras ensure that the nursery will offer support for our busy parents while focusing on creating an environment that will develop and stimulate children. We have worked hard to apply our knowledge, built up from 30 years of successful openings, to create the best possible environment in which children can flourish and naturally love learning forever.’

The new nursery will bring the total number of settings operated by Bright Horizons to 208, offering more than 16,100 childcare places.
