10 rings on my fingers and thumb

Make a simple game that will help children reinforce their number recognition. Resources

Resources

An A4 sheet of card, a marker pen or crayon, thin card in different colours, scissors, Blu-tack

Step by step

* Get the children to work in pairs. Ask one of them to place both their hands on the sheet of card while the other draws around them, and vice versa.

* Label each finger and thumb with a different numeral from 1 to 10.

* Now cut ten small jewel shapes from the coloured card. These ten jewels will represent ten rings.

* Number the rings from 1 to 10.

* Tell the children to mix up their rings and then choose one. They then have to find the finger/thumb with the same number and stick on the ring using Blu-tack.
