A 2.6m flagship early years centre in Winchester has been given the go-ahead by Hampshire County Counil

(Photograph) - A 2.6m flagship early years centre in Winchester has been given the go-ahead by Hampshire County Council. The centre, which replaces Medecroft Opportunity Centre and the nursery at St Bede C of E Primary School, is due to be finished in summer 2005. It will have places for 30 children of nursery age and 25 children with special educational needs, and offer services for families, child development and training for early years workers. Council leader Cllr Ken Thornber said, 'This is an exciting project which will greatly enhance early years education in Winchester to benefit future generations.'
