Peg butterflies

You will need:

* Coloured card

* Paint, glitter etc

* Plastic clothes peg

* Glue

* Scissors

* Pencil * Cut out the shape of a butterfly. The length should be just a little shorter than the peg you are using.

* Decorate the butterfly with materials of your choice, and allow it to dry.

* Cut out two small strips of card and curl around the pencil to make feelers. Stick these to the back of the butterfly.

* Firmly glue the back of the butterfly to the clothes peg, along the centre of the body, and allow to dry.

* The butterfly can now be used as a welly peg, or can decorate a room by being pegged on to curtains or lampshades. You could let the child pretend it's flying around!

Rainy day umbrella

You will need:

* Coloured card

* Tin foil or silver card

* Paints

* Scissors

* Glue

* Thread * Cut out an opened umbrella shape and a handle shape from the card, and stick these together.

* Paint the umbrella with lots of bright paint and allow to dry.

* Cut out raindrop shapes from the tin foil or silver card and stick them on to the umbrella. Attach a few of the raindrops to thread and hang them at different lengths from the bottom of the umbrella.
