A minister we need

The post of minister for children is long overdue (News, 19 June). I am a foster carer and nursery nurse, and the two categories of children that I care for - those looked after by social services, and the under-fives - are the most vulnerable, being without an effective voice and often marginalised by our society. I wish Margaret Hodge, as the first minister for children, every success in championing all children's rights.
