As Jasmine reached her first birthday it was clear she is developing well, although still of a petite build, weighing 7.638kg (16lbs 15oz). She is taking more steps, almost walking 'on the spot', without actually walking. For her birthday Jasmine received a soft-bodied doll with an array of safe fastenings on its clothing which she explores with interest, and a push-along trolley, which helps her balance as she pushes it fast, crashing to an uncontrolled stop across the room.
A regular preoccupation is putting things in containers and tipping them out again. She has been supplied with a variety of containers and items to encourage her. She loves cardboard boxes of any size and shape, and obtains the satisfaction of posting the more 'challenging' shapes from her shape sorter through the hole in a tissue box, when the shape sorter itself proves too difficult.
