Art exhibition to mark Universal Children's Day

Families Activities
To celebrate Universal Children’s Day on 20 November, Eureka!, the national children’s museum, is holding a special international art exhibition.

From today, the exhibition ‘I know my Rights’ will display drawings from children in Italy, Albania and Yorkshire to mark the day in 1959 when the United Nations Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. It is also the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989.

Artwork by children from the Eureka! Nursery in Halifax is displayed alongside those by children from the public orphanage of Scutari, Albania, and Tato-o la Casa degli Elementi, a family resort in Bergamo, Italy. Annulliamo la Distanza is an Italian charity committed to fighting hunger, disease and other hardships that are threatening the future of children around the world.
