Be my baby at exhibition to experience early life

Parents and professionals can view the world through the eyes of a baby at a new interactive exhibition. The World of Babies, which opened in London last week and will be touring major UK cities over the next three months, has been developed by nappy manufacturers Pampers to help give parents a better understanding of the different stages of their child's development.

Professor Annette Karmiloff-Smith, head of the Neurocognitive Development Unit at the Institute of Child Health in London and advisor to the Pampers Institute on all aspects of child development, brought the scientific element to the exhibition.

She said, 'We used to believe that the infant was passive and that learning did not start until some time after the birth. But over the past few decades research about infants has been revolutionised.'
