'Bring Your Bear'

(Photograph) - Children and adults alike are being invited to bring their teddy to school or work and join in activities to help raise money to fund treatments for sick children. The medical charity Action Research is organising a 'Bring Your Bear' party between 23 and 27 June to celebrate the birthday of its mascot Paddington Bear. A 'Bring Your Bear' party pack with lots of money-raising ideas is available on 01403 327440 or the website www.actionresearch.org.uk/byb. s Birthday. As the Action Research mascot, Paddington is looking for early years settings, schools, brownie and cub packs, guides and other groups to hold 'bearilliant' parties, organise money-raising activities and help raise over 50,000. 'Big Brother' presenter Davina McCall, encouraging participation in the event, said, 'Action Research has touched the lives of nearly everyone in the UK because of its wide range of breakthroughs, particularly in treatments for sick children.'
