Nursery World - Buy 'bear miles'

Paddington Bear has set off on a summer tour of UK children's
hospitals in a bid to raise funds for the Bear Miles for Breakthroughs
appeal organised by Action Medical Research to help sick children and
babies.

The public can support the appeal by donating 'bear miles' online to Paddington, who is the charity's mascot. Anyone who donates to the appeal will receive an e-postcard from Paddington thanking them for their support, which will fund research to help children with conditions such as epilepsy, meningitis, cerebral palsy or brain cancer.

The charity said that ten bear miles, which cost £1 per 'mile', could buy laboratory items such as pipettes, while 38 bear miles could fund research for an hour.
