Care rules plans are wrapped up in the Net

* Early years practitioners can keep up with developments in the Scottish Executive's work to transform the regulation of care via the Internet. The Executive last week launched a website dedicated to mapping and explaining the changes to regulation for early education and childcare services and residential care for children and adults. It will chart the progress of the Regulation of Care Bill through Parliament and the development of new standards for regulating daycare and other care services.

The Executive last week launched a website dedicated to mapping and explaining the changes to regulation for early education and childcare services and residential care for children and adults. It will chart the progress of the Regulation of Care Bill through Parliament and the development of new standards for regulating daycare and other care services.

The site also gives comprehensive background information on the Bill, which will establish two new independent bodies - the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care to regulate care services and the Scottish Social Services Council to regulate the workforce. It includes e-mail facilities through which early years practitioners can ask questions or comment on the Bill and swap ideas on good practice. The site is on www.scotland.gov.uk/government/rcp
