Qualifying was the good news. The bad news is she can't find a teaching post.

'You always hear about a shortage of teachers. What nobody says is the shortage is in London where you can't afford to live and in the dodgy areas where you don't want to work. I live in an affluent area. The school where I did my teaching practice has made four teaching assistants and one teacher redundant. I read an article which said early years specialists were going to find it hardest to find jobs - half the people on my course had not got a job to go to at the end of it.
