Children still need our help

One hundred years ago, Dr Barnardo believed that the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people deserved a better start in life.

This remains our philosophy today.

Our report Then and Now, looking at the issues facing children and young people in 1905 and in 2005, clearly demonstrates why Barnardo's is still needed today.

While we no longer run the orphanages of Victorian times, we do continue to protect, nurture and provide opportunities for children through more than 350 specialised projects in local communities across the UK.
