Resources

Different coloured paints, brushes, a permanent marker, large circles of white card

Step by step

* Divide the circle of card into eight equal sections. The number of children will determine how many circles of card you will need.

* Invite each child to take it turns to mix their favourite colour using the paints and to paint a section of the wheel in that colour.

* When dry, display the coloured wheel where it can be easily seen.

* Ask the children which colours appear on the wheel, how many colours they can see and which colour appears most often or least?
